FAQ
I live in the City of Houston. Where do I take household hazardous waste?
The City’s Environmental Service Centers: ESC South at 11500 S Post Oak Rd, Houston, TX 77035 (Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat 8:00 am-5:00 pm) and ESC North at 5614 Neches St, Bldg. C, Houston, TX 77026 (Second Thursday of each month, 9:00 am-3:00 pm). The City page does not state a fee or a separate ID rule for household hazardous waste, so call (832) 393-7767 and bring a Texas ID and a City of Houston utility bill.
I live in unincorporated Harris County. What are my options?
The Harris County facility at 6900 Hahl Rd, Houston, TX 77040 (by appointment) and the HazMobile events. Upcoming HazMobile dates are on the HazMobile page.
Can I use a neighboring county’s site?
Usually not. Most sites serve only their own residents. One exception in the TCEQ table: the Pearland site lists “Brazoria County and the City of Pearland Residents. All others with a donation of $1/lb of HHW and $.50/lb electronics”. Call to confirm.
Does anyone pick up from my home?
TCEQ lists 3 home pickup programs for parts of Harris County: City of West University Place (WM At Your Door Special Collection); Meadowhill Regional MUD (WM At Your Door Special Collection); Sugar Land (Republic Services). They are only for residents of those utility districts or cities.
